Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the North Western Federal District arrived in Vologda Region on an official visit.
The working visit of Mr. Alexander Gutsan had a focus on implementation of the national projects initiated by the RF President, a Covid-19 outbreak and economic development during this challenging time.
During the working visit, the Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the North Western Federal District met with the top leadership of the Vologda Region. Mr. Kuvshinnikov told about restrictions aimed at counteracting the spread of the coronavirus infection in the region.
"State authorities, business, public organizations and ordinary citizens of the Vologda Region are fighting the pandemic", - said Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov. “Thanks to the effective work in identifying and treating patients with COVID, the region takes one of the last places in the country in terms of the number of identified cases per capita. As for those who recovered from coronavirus infection, the Vologda Region ranks 1st in the North-Western Federal district,” stated Mr. Kuvshinnikov.
“We continue to work on lifting restrictions, with sanitary and social distancing requirements still in place," Governor said at the meeting. After reopening, all organisations have to meet the requirements of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor). The region tries hard to control the incidence of novel coronavirus infection.
The meeting participants also discussed national projects concerning social matters, repair and construction of transport infrastructure.
Alexander Gutsan noted that during this challenging time, it is necessary to take special control over the construction of social facilities planned within the framework of national projects and their commissioning in the current year.
“The Vologda Region is the largest transport and logistics hub in Russia’s North-West, all major federal highways pass through it. The region ranks 1st in the North-Western Federal district and 17th in the country in terms of the total length of highways”, noted Mr. Kuvshinnikov. During the meeting the Governor presented to Mr. Gutsan the main projects for the development of the region's road network.
