Vologda Region is stepping up cooperation with Finland in the field of certification.
An agreement aiming to expand Russian-Finnish cooperation in the field of certification was signed in Cherepovets on February 8th.
The Finnish delegation included representatives of the Finnish Association General Finland, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the leading research and technology company in the Nordic countries and representatives of the Finnish business community.
The Russian side was represented by Cherepovets EXPERT Engineering Centre, the Agency for City Development and representatives of the Russian exporters.
The parties will provide comprehensive services to enterprises of food, woodworking, metallurgical and construction industries for testing, obtaining the necessary licenses and certification of products for a successful European market entry.
“Cherepovets enterprises will be able to supply products not only in Finland but also in other European countries. This is a major step forward, the level of our experts and enterprises will grow significantly,” noted the head of the Agency for City Development, Cherepovets.
Matti Lanu, Vice President of VTT Expert Services is sure that it is a large and complex project for Finland, which will be useful to other regions of Russia.
Dmitry Zaitsev, chairman of Cherepovets EXPERT Engineering Centre emphasized: “This project is very important for the economy of the city. Our services undoubtedly will be in high demand by small- and medium-business enterprises. Through certification process, the enterprises will have an opportunity to develop their business, to improve the quality of products, and hence improve the competitiveness.”
