Veliky Ustyug (Vologda Region) enters top five Russia’s most popular small cities for trips on Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Veliky Ustyug is in the list of Russia's small cities that will be most popular destinations on Defender of the Fatherland Day that is celebrated in Russia on February 23rd.
The study conducted by e-service for searching hotels Tvil.ru compiled its results based on the number of hotel reservations.
The top five of the rating most popular for traveling on Defender of the Fatherland Day includes such Russian cities as Vyborg (Leningrad Region), Veliky Ustyug (Vologda Region), Pereslavl-Zalessky (Yaroslavl Region), Naro-Fomisk (Moscow Region) and Sortavala in Karelia.
Veliky Ustyug has much to offer the discerning visitor. It has a remarkable place on Russia's tourist map. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, the city, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential. The official residence of Ded Moroz (Russia's Santa Claus) is located in Veliky Ustyug. It is in traditional "terem" style. The residence welcomes visitors all year around.
