Six Vologda’s theatres are to participate in XV International drama festival "Voices of History".

XV International drama festival "Voices of History" will be held in Vologda City on July 1-10, 2020. The festival has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region, it is a favourite festival of all theatre-goers.

The Vologda Drama Theatre, Theatre for Children and Youth, Vologda Puppet Theatre "Teremok", Vologda Chamber Theatre, anthropological theatre of the Museum of Architecture and Ethnography in Semenkovo and youth theatre-studio “Sonnet” will show their performances in the framework of the festival.

Since 1991 Vologda has been home to the International theatrical festival "Voices of History". It merits great attention. The success of it has been conditioned by the professionalism of the participants and serious experience, and the ability to combine these qualities with Russian national characteristics. The focus of the festival is on the history of Russia and the world history.

The Voices of History is organized jointly with the RF Ministry of Culture, the RF Union of theatrical workers, the Vologda Oblast Government and the administration of the city.

The performances are shown in the open air, in the historical setting of the Vologda Kremlin, which is a point of interest itself. Holding such a festival near the Kremlin is hardly a matter of chance. This year the performances will be also shown in the majestic architectural ensemble of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery, in Cherepovets City, Belozersk and in the Museum of Architecture and Ethnography in Semenkovo.

"The Voices of History" always attracted the most skilful actors and repertory theatres from Russian cities. Theatres from the USA, Poland, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries came to give performances in Vologda.
