New book by William Brumfield was presented at the Fine Arts Museum of Cherepovets.
William Brumfield, professor of Slavic Studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, spent years traveling through the Russian North photographing the beauty of traditional Russian architecture.
Brumfield's latest book, Architectural Heritage of Cherepovets District, contains some 150 glorious colour photographs of Cherepovets’ architecture and its surroundings.
Since 2005 the American historian has written 8 books about the cities of the Vologda Region focusing on the problems of preserving the architecture of Russia.
According to William Brumfield, the architecture of Cherepovets is a rare combination of tradition and modernity.
The Mayor of Cherepovets City emphasized the importance of the publication of this unique book, thanks to which Cherepovets will be well represented at the global level.
