Delegation from Fund of development of construction and housing and communal services “Finedu Finland” arrived in Vologda on a 3-day duration visit.
Led by the head of Finedu Finland, the members of the Finnish delegation met the top leadership of Vologda’s Department of Construction, Housing and Communal Services to discuss setting up of an international cluster of wooden house-building. The main objective of the meeting was to define guidelines for cooperation in such spheres as science, education and innovations.
Establishment of such a cluster will draw foreign investments to the Vologda Oblast, boost development of small- and medium-businesses, and increase budget revenues. The usage of state-of-the-art technologies, smart and modern materials will increase the volume of commissioning of dwelling houses and quality of construction.
Setting up a cluster will make it possible to unite efforts at all stages – from training personnel for the woodworking industry to the final product yield. Finnish professors will give lectures on new technologies in wooden house-building, construction materials market, construction ecology and new design methods and techniques.
On a visit to Vologda, the Finnish delegation participated in a conference on wood processing and new ways of timber industry development. Its aim was also to highlight training of highly-skilled specialists for the industry. Within the framework of the conference, the Finnish delegation held negotiations with the Cherepovets State University on upgrading professional skills of both students and professors, engineers and building industry workers.
The parties agreed to elaborate all the necessary documents for the project and present it at the International exhibition-fair “Russian Wood” in Vologda early in December.
