Ded Moroz, Russia's Santa Claus will receive his birthday congratulations on November 18th in Veliky Ustyug and then will set off on his traditional New Year trip.

The celebration will take place at Ded Moroz' Votchina, a few miles outside Veliky Ustyug. Festive performances, fireworks, sport events and concerts are part of the program.
On this special occasion Ded Moroz will welcome his friends - holiday-season miracle-makers, wonderland creatures and helpers from Russia. Of course, children from all parts of Russia will be there too.
By the well-established tradition, Ded Moroz’s birthday will give the green light to the New Year festivals across Russia. As soon as darkness comes, the New Year Fir Tree will be lit by Ded Moroz on the central square of Veliky Ustyug, which will mean that the New Year is coming.
