Ded Moroz, who like Santa Claus gives children presents during the festive period, receives almost 200,000 letters and postcards annually. The main holiday season miracle maker in Russia gets letters from every corner of Russia. People of all ages write to Ded Moroz. Russians send letters to Ded Moroz's official residence in Veliky Ustyug, in the northeast corner of the Vologda Region in the north of European Russia.
Ded Moroz's post office has been open since 1998. The post is delivered to Ded Moroz all the year round.
The estate of Russia’s Ded Moroz in Veliky Ustyug opened twenty years ago. Since that time, the New Year character welcomes tourists from all over Russia and abroad.
