Cherepovets’ businessmen concluded a contract with Finnish companies for supply of cold-rolled pipes and all-terrain vehicles.
In 2016 business circles of Cherepovets (Vologda Region) and Finland participated in international conferences concerning wood-processing and machine-building. In the framework of these meetings the Finnish and Cherepovets' companies managed to agree on cooperation.
In March 2016 a delegation from Cherepovets City led by Mayor Yuri Kuzin visited Finland. The main objective of the visit was to discuss Russian-Finnish partnership ties and present investment potential of Cherepovets City. On a visit to Finland, the delegation from Cherepovets participated in round-table discussions, workshops and B2B meetings with representatives of Finnish companies in three Finnish cities – Helsinki, Joensuu and Raahe.
In the course of negotiations the parties discussed cooperation between PAO Severstal and Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. The Finnish businessmen were also interested in collaboration with Cherepovets machine-building and metal-working enterprises, in supply of ship components.
Representatives of Joensuu science park (Finland) came to Cherepovets in October 2016. The delegation from Joensuu participated in round-table discussions and meetings with representatives of Cherepovets’ companies in the areas of food production, furniture production, logistics and consulting services.
Managing Director at Joensuu Science Park Jari Lauronen underlined that after this study tour the Finnish businessmen intend to go further and sign agreements with Cherepovets’ entrepreneurs aiming to establish a partnership that will last.
Now the parties are aiming to expand cooperation in such spheres as certification of products of agriculture, food industry, woodworking industry and construction. A treaty is due to be signed in February 2017.
Deputy Mayor of Cherepovets noted that bilateral meetings between Cherepovets and Finland will be carried out on a regular basis.
