Vologda Oblast to collaborate with Germany.
The German delegation led by Katrin Werdermann, Deputy Consul General of Germany in St. Petersburg arrived in the Vologda Region. Among the members of the delegation there were Dr. Gabriele Kötschau, head of the Representation of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in North/West Russia, St. Petersburg, Mr. René Harun, Director of the North-West Branch Office, German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg and Gerd Fennefrohn, coordinator of the educational program German Language Diploma in the Northwestern region of Russia.
On a visit to Vologda, the German delegation met with Deputy Governor Alexei Kozhevnikov, mayor of Vologda City Yuvgeny Shulepov and top leadership of the Vologda Oblast Development Corporation and Vologda Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Then, the members of the German delegation had a meeting with students and professors of the Vologda State Pedagogical University (faculty of foreign languages, German department).
The German guests also visited Sheksna Industrial Park and Severstal pipe-producing plant Sheksna.
On a visit to Cherepovets, the German delegation held negotiations with the city’s mayor Yuri Kuzin. The program of the visit also included a meeting with professors and students of the Cherepovets State University and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The focus of the meeting was on bilateral foreign economic cooperation between the Vologda Oblast and Germany. It is planned to organize a business meeting of Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and representatives of German business circles under the heading “Dialogue with Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov”. Top leadership of the German Consulate in Russia and German-Russian Chamber of Commerce are expected to participate in the meeting.
