A German delegation led by Katrin Werdermann, Deputy Consul General of Germany in St. Petersburg is to visit Vologda Oblast on February 24-25.
Among the members of the delegation there are Dr. Gabriele Kötschau, head of the Representation of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in North/West Russia, St. Petersburg, Mr. René Harun, Director of the North-West Branch Office, German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg and Gerd Fennefrohn, coordinator of the educational program German Language Diploma in the Northwestern region of Russia.
On a visit to Vologda, on February 24th the German delegation is to meet with Deputy Governor Alexei Kozhevnikov, mayor of Vologda City Yuvgeny Shulepov and top leadership of the Vologda Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Vologda Oblast Development Corporation and Department of Economic Development. In addition to it, the members of the German delegation will have a meeting with students and professors of the Vologda State Pedagogical University (faculty of foreign languages), and visit the Vologda State Museum-Preserve.
On February 25th the German guests will move to Cherepovets to hold negotiations with the city’s mayor Yuri Kuzin, to attend Severstal pipe-producing plant Sheksna and OAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies.
The Vologda Region has been sustaining trade and economic ties with Germany for years. Over nine months of 2013 the commodity turnover between the Vologda Oblast and Germany amounted to USD 233 mln.
