New local government coronavirus guidelines: school holidays and business support measures during the coronavirus pandemic.
School holidays and new business support measures became the main topics of a meeting the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control in the region.
Usually, Russia’s schools take a week-long holiday in mid-autumn. This year schools across the Vologda Region will take a vacation from October 19 in order to slow the region's rise in coronavirus cases. “When schoolchildren come home, they very easily transmit the virus to adults and elderly family members who get more seriously ill,” the Governor said. “Let’s use the holidays as an opportunity to slow the disease rate and preserve our health.”
The holidays will last until November 4 to minimize contact between students. "On the recommendation of health officers, considering the fall increase in colds and the rise of detected Covid-19 infections, I have decided to extend the fall holidays,” Oleg Kuvshinnikov said. The Governor stressed that from November 5, all schools in the region will start working in the usual format.
Additional support measures are aimed at maintaining the stability and competitiveness of the region’s enterprises in the field of small and medium-sized businesses, industrial production, export of products, tourism and timber industry.
Tax preferences will be extended for 2021 in terms of applying reduced tax rates under the simplified tax system for organizations and entrepreneurs working in the most affected sectors of the economy. All the companies operating in spheres most affected by the crisis have the right to apply a tax deferral / instalment regarding taxes, advance payments and insurance contribution that fell due in 2020. It also covers companies that are strategic, of system importance, city-forming not operating in affected spheres.
