Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov attended school # 5 in Vologda and congratulated school students and educators on the beginning of the new school year.
September 1st is a special holiday. It brings us back to childhood, it is the beginning of a new journey to the Land of Knowledge. All of us keep bright memories of school friends, wise teachers and interesting subjects.
On Knowledge Day Mr. Kuvshinnikov talked with high school students who were interested in careers that are most in-demand right now, the possibilities of targeted training, and how the head of the region has chosen a profession.
Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov briefed on the leading universities of the region, where about 16.500 students from more than 30 Russian regions and CIS-countries receive higher education annually. The Vologda State University boasts a high level of training of engineering personnel, IT specialists and teachers. The Cherepovets State University is noted for its partnership ties with the largest world-class companies Severstal and PhosAgro, the use of new technologies to deliver training, and development of digital transformation for various training formats. The Vologda State Milk Academy plays a very important role for the agro-industrial complex and forestry of Russia’s North.
The Governor announced that classes will start in full time education format from September 1, in compliance with sanitary safety measures. All coronavirus safety requirements will be taken into account in order to protect children and teachers as much as possible.
341 schools across the region will open for the new school year on Sept. 1.
